It's getting so cold out :(

Today, October 24, we began by watching a science video that showed the various categories of science, such as geology, chemistry, bioethics, biology, meteorology, and astronomy. We then talked about camerascope and how you can set parameters to take pictures at intervals, which is really neat! You can use it to see many of the processes that are too slow to capture in real time, unless using technology. This would be great for science classrooms for the kids to better grasp the concepts behind how things work. You can convey what is real after figuring out their misconceptions about science. The example with the lady’s faces was pretty crazy! If things are slowed down you can also learn a lot of about things you wouldn’t necessarily notice otherwise, which is a great way for children to learn about faster processes like the blinking of the eye. I enjoyed the hamster story :) It was really cute! We then talked about simulations, which are ways to recreate something not normally recreateable. These can help the students learn better, by understanding the input and output in an interactive manner. We got together with our groups and talked about our assistive technology presentations. I am in group 5 with Kathryn A., Mary Alex, Hyemi, and Kaylen and we will be teaching on Speech Recognition Software. I’m a little concerned about the lesson planning paper, but don’t have any questions as of yet! My one question I did have with my website was answered and it is working beautifully!! Thanks!!!
